Dr. David Burrows is an expert in X-ray detector development, having been involved in this field for over 35 years. He was the Instrument Lead for the CUBIC instrument on the SAC-B satellite, Instrument Co-I Chandra/ACIS, and Instrument PI for Swift. He also conducts research on supernova remnants and gamma-ray bursts and their afterglows. He has published over 270 refereed papers and given 65 invited talks at a variety of professional conferences, universities, and government labs. He received a B.A. with honors (physics/music) from Beloit College, and Ph.D. (physics) from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
